The Quick Start Program - What it can do for your business 

For more than 40 years, Quick Start has provided customized workforce training free-of-charge to qualified businesses in Georgia.

Today, the program is one of the state’s key assets for supporting new and expanding industries. Quick Start delivers training in classrooms, mobile labs or directly on the plant floor, wherever it works best for a company. To ensure that all economic development personnel are prepared with the latest skills and strategies for workforce training, Quick Start also administers an ongoing program for professional development, the Certified Economic Developer Trainer program.

Quick Start delivers comprehensive workforce training services, from pre-employment assessment and training that helps companies “select the best,” to customized, job-specific training that delivers exactly the right skills your business needs. Quick Start also works closely with our agency partners in the Technical College System of Georgia through a network of vice presidents of economic development. Our technical colleges provide customized contract training for continuing business support after your start-up or expansion is complete. You can contact the right technical college economic development office by going here and selecting the county in which you are located or are considering for your new business.

The technical colleges are also the contact points through which individuals and companies can participate in Georgia Work Ready, an initiative that helps Georgia’s citizens match their abilities with job opportunities, and helps businesses match applicants with the skills the company needs.

Quick Start ensures that companies throughout Georgia receive consistent, professional service, Quick Start administers the Certified Economic Developer Trainer program, through which all technical college economic development professionals and Quick Start staff and directors receive ongoing professional training.

Since 1967, Quick Start has developed training systems for thousands of expansion and relocation projects implemented by a wide range of leading manufacturing and service industries.  Our experience includes training workers to assemble intricate aircraft components, grow bacteria to produce vaccines, manufacture a wide array of plastic and metal products, process foods from cookies to sports drinks, and field calls from customers as diverse as online investors, diagnostic equipment users and home warranty holders.
