Critical Issues Forum 2018
July 31, 2018
Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education
With the primary election runoffs now behind us, the Georgia Partnership is excited to set the stage for our "Elections 2018" Critical Issues Forum on August 15, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the Loudermilk Conference Center. Our featured guests, State School Superintendent Candidates, Otha Thornton (D) and Richard Woods (R), will be sharing their top priorities and respective visions for ensuring Georgia is among the best states in the nation for education.
In addition to special guest and veteran education reporter, Alan Richard, spotlighting what recent poll results are telling us about public perceptions of education, we will be hearing from a diverse panel of education stakeholders who will probe the candidates for their stance on the issues most important to voters. The panel will include:
Duke Bradley, 2018 Fulton County Schools Principal of the Year, Banneker High School
Genesis Castro, Recent Graduate of Peachtree Ridge High School and University of Georgia
Chris Clark, President & CEO, Georgia Chamber of Commerce
Allison Kerley Townsend, 2019 Georgia Teacher of the Year
We hope you'll join us to learn more about the candidates and their top priorities to position Georgia as one of the best states in the nation for education. Seats are filling quickly so if you haven't already registered, we encourage you to do so immediately!
