Plans Are Underway For The Spring 2017 Region 6 Georgia Academy Class For Economic Development

November 11, 2016

Tonya Mole, Region 6 representative for the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, is working with community leaders and business owners to round up the troops for the next Region 6 Georgia Academy class.  She's trying to identify potential candidates from the community who would benefit from The Georgia Academy for Economic Development.  The 2017 Region 6 classes will be held at the Electric Cooperative Training Center located at 955 Rumble Road in Smarr on the following dates:

Session I – February 8 (Wednesday)

Session II – March 8 (Wednesday)

Session III – April 12 (Wednesday)

Session IV – May 10 (Wednesday)

The Georgia Academy’s economic development training program provides an understanding of the complexities of economic development and the development of our region.  The program, through a variety of defined activities, takes an in-depth look at regional issues and opportunities, and provides information and tools to help attendees be an effective member of your economic development team. The Academy’s included regional leadership training will improve their leadership and team-building skills and give them an opportunity to join a network of leaders who regularly share information and experience. They learn how to see our region in a new way, and how to make a positive impact on its future.   The cost is $265.

If you or someone you know would be interested in attending, please call the Development Authority of Peach County today at +1 (478) 825-3826
