PEACH COUNTY, GA – Attracting new businesses is only half the battle. Peach County recognizes that a skilled workforce is crucial for long-term economic success.
Partnerships between local educational institutions and businesses are playing a key role in preparing residents for the jobs of the future. Fort Valley State University and Central Georgia Technical College are offering specialized training programs in areas like advanced manufacturing, logistics, and information technology.
"We're working closely with local employers to ensure our programs align with their needs," says Andrea Griner, Vice President of Economic Development at Central Georgia Technical College. "We want to equip our students with the skills they need to succeed."
The Peach County Workforce Development Center is also playing a vital role, providing job training, career counseling, and job placement services. "Continued education is so important," says Peach County High School Work Based Learning Coordinator, Joey Hinson. "We are trying to give students the tools to be competitive in todays job market."
A well-educated workforce will directly impact the ability of the county to attract new businesses, and allow those businesses to thrive.
